About the player
Luis Moreno came through Universidad Católica's academy and made his first-team breakthrough in August 2023. He has since become a regular in the squad.
Deployed mainly as a defensive midfielder, Moreno is not a frequent scorer, but his first goal for Universidad Católica came on 26 October 2024 against Barcelona SC. In 2025 he added the Copa Ecuador to his record, lifting the trophy with the club. The 2026 season, so far, has passed without a goal from him.
At youth level, Moreno has represented Ecuador's under-20 side, featuring at the South American U-20 Championship in 2025. He has yet to add a senior cap for Ecuador.
