About the player
Rodrigo Saravia came through Peñarol's academy and made his first-team debut there in 2021, the same year he had a loan spell at Racing Club de Montevideo. Peñarol later sent him across the border on loan to Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, where he stayed for two seasons and picked up his only goal of that stretch.
In 2024 he left Uruguay for Russia, joining FC Rostov, where he added another goal in 15 appearances. He returned to Argentina in 2025 with Belgrano before moving on again at the start of 2026, this time to Brazil's Ponte Preta. His stay there proved short: a wage dispute led him to terminate the contract, and by June 2026 he had signed with Boston River in Uruguay on an 18-month deal.
Saravia plays right-footed and has worn the number 6 shirt at Ponte Preta. He has not been capped by the Uruguay national team.
