Tomás Agustín Pozzo

The move that reshaped Tomás Agustín Pozzo's career came on 1 January 2024, when Godoy Cruz paid Independiente a fee of around $1,000,000 — roughly €918,000 — for 70 per cent of his rights. It closed a spell that had started when he signed his first professional contract in January 2020 and made his senior debut in November of that year.

The route there was not a straight line. Pozzo began at CA Calzada before joining Banfield's academy at eight, and he stayed six years. He left at fourteen for Club Almafuerte, and only then did he enter Independiente's youth system — the third academy of a childhood spent moving between them.

The left foot is the thing he is known for, and at 171 cm he has built his game around it rather than around physical presence.

He has represented Argentina at youth level, though he has not been capped by the senior side. No major senior team titles sit on his record, and no individual awards have been logged against his name.

In July 2026 he left Mendoza again, this time on loan to the Uruguayan club Defensor Sporting, with the agreement running until June 2027.
