Antwerp Giants

The harbour is written into the club's names: among the ones it has carried is Port of Antwerp Giants, alongside Telenet Giants and Windrose Giants. The club itself dates from 1995, when Sobabee BC of Antwerp merged with Racing Mechelen, a side that had won 15 league titles. The result was called Racing Basket Antwerpen until it became the Antwerp Giants in 2005.

The first Belgian championship came in 1999–2000, under the name Telindus Antwerpen, together with the Belgian Cup. The second took 26 years: it arrived in 2025–26. In between, the cup was the club's competition. Six wins in all, including 2019 and 2020 back to back, and several finals against BC Oostende.

The club's best European run came in 2018–19, when it reached the Basketball Champions League Final Four. It lost its semi-final, then took third place by beating Brose Bamberg 72–58 in the third-place game.

Vrenz Bleijenbergh joined the youth system at the age of four and later played for Galatasaray. Thomas Akyazili came back to Antwerp after his college basketball at the University of Colorado. The club also has a local derby against Kangoeroes Mechelen.

Home games are played in Merksem, a district of the city, at the Lotto Arena, which opened on 10 March 2007. It holds up to 5,500 for basketball.
