Bahia U20

The most recent stretch — 2018 through 2026, broken only in 2020 — has taken the tally to 25.

The same 2001 season brought the only national-regional trophy on the list, the Copa do Nordeste Sub-20. Two Copa do Brasil Sub-20 finals, in 2016 and 2020, ended in defeat, and the Nordeste final has been lost three times, most recently in 2025.

Pivetes de Aço — Steel Urchins — is what the youth teams are called in Salvador, set against the senior side's Tricolor de Aço. The colours are blue, white and red.

Daniel Alves came through here before anyone outside Bahia had reason to know the academy's name, and the club has traded on that ever since; Anderson Talisca and Rodrigo Becão followed. The youth matches are played at the Estádio Metropolitano de Pituaçu, a 32,000-seat ground the senior team has also used for state-championship fixtures — a stage far larger than a Sub-20 crowd fills.

Against Vitória the Clássico Ba-Vi runs down through the age groups, and the history between them adds an edge that a state youth final does not otherwise carry.

What the record still lacks is a national title. Twenty-five state championships and a single regional trophy, won 25 years ago, sit alongside four lost finals — the last of them in 2025.
