Real Brasília is the name that gives this fixture its edge: the two clubs share the Federal District's Under-20 stage, and for the seasons Brasília's junior side hasn't held the Campeonato Brasiliense Sub-20 title, it's usually because Real Brasília or Brasiliense FC have taken it instead.

The junior side plays under Brasília Futebol Clube, whose supporters and press still call it Candango as often as Colorado, red and white running through both nicknames. The senior club took shape in 1975 as Brasília Esporte Clube.

That earlier strength showed up again briefly in the Under-20 category: back-to-back Brasiliense Sub-20 titles in 2014 and 2015. The 2014 campaign also took the side outside the Federal District altogether, into the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, where they played their matches at Arena Barueri rather than on home ground.

Since then the title has mostly gone elsewhere — Real Brasília took it in 2017, 2021, 2022 and 2024, Brasiliense FC in 2023 — leaving Brasília's Under-20s chasing a run they haven't matched since 2015.
