California Storm II

Every side that lines up in white and navy blue for California Storm II is measured against the same yardstick: the record of California Storm, the parent club that has won four WPSL National Championships. The reserve team plays under that shadow, borrowing the colours and the name without yet having a trophy of its own in the USL W League.

What it has built instead is a habit of finishing near the top of the NorCal Conference. A run to the conference finals in 2023 was followed by first place in the conference the following year, a campaign that carried the team into the semi-finals. Fifth place came in 2025, then a return to second in 2026 — form that has held without ever converting into a title.

Home games are set at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex, also known as the Tsakopoulos Family Soccer Complex, though the fixture list regularly sends the team further into the Bay Area, to Treasure Island Stadium in San Francisco and to Merritt College's ground in Oakland.

The story behind the shirt goes back further than the reserve side itself, to Sacramento, where the club was founded in 1995 as Sacramento Storm before its four national championships gave the Storm name its weight.
