«Rage»
Kim Bingham left Pleasanton for Arizona State and, not long after, a US national team goalkeeper's shirt. She is one of 133 players the club counts as having moved on to college soccer since 2001, a figure that says more about Pleasanton Rage than any single result.
The club grew out of the San Ramon Illusion, which took a state title in 1999 before the Pleasanton Rage name took hold. What followed came quickly: a national U-19 championship in 2001, then a U-17 title the year after, in front of college scouts across the country. A Region IV title for the U-19 girls followed in 2009, further apart in time but built on the same pipeline.
Megan Jurado went the international route with the Philippines, Katie Mahoney with the United States, Barbara Blocker to Miami — different countries, different colleges. The club does not dwell on a single star.
In 2023 that youth structure grew a second, older tier: a semi-professional side entered in the USL W League, a step up from academy football. It arrived without trophies of its own so far.
