Lokomotiv Moscow Women

The title that mattered came in 2021. The Cup came first, in 2020, and again the following year alongside the league; a third arrived in 2024. Add the two Super Cups, in 2021 and 2022, and the run reads as one long spell in which the side kept knocking on the door and it kept opening.

The club was put together by decision of Ilya Gerkus, then president of the men's Lokomotiv, on 28 February 2018. Not a revival in any administrative sense — an earlier women's team wearing the same badge had played from 1988 until money ran out in 1993, and nothing legal connects the two. What connects them is the emblem, which the women's side shares with the men's club, and the red, green and white.

Elena Fomina has been in charge from the first day and has never been replaced. The three trophies of 2020 and 2021, and the Cup of 2024, all belong to her tenure.

Nelli Korovkina has scored 78 goals for the club, more than anyone, and has captained it; she has been called up by Russia. Yana Sheina has played 175 matches.

Home is Sapsan Arena in Preobrazhenskoye, the smaller ground inside the RZD Arena complex, known before the renaming as Lokomotiv's Small Sports Arena. It holds 10,000.
