The football school at the Chertanovo education centre had been running since 1976, and by 1989 the women's side had a club of its own around it.

The early bronze medals came in a run — 1991, 1992, 1993 — and then nothing of that kind for more than two decades. Third place returned in 2017, along with the Russian Women's Cup final, where CSKA won 1–0 and Chertanovo found no answer. The following season brought the club closer to the title than it has ever been: second in the Russian Women's Football Championship in 2018, and the championship itself still unwon.

That silver carried the team into the UEFA Women's Champions League for 2019/20.

Home is Arena Chertanovo on Sumskoy Proyezd, and it holds 490 people. The shirts are blue at home and white away. The nickname, The Devils, sat in the badge until December 2021.

The fixture that fills the calendar is the one against Lokomotiv, the Moscow derby.
