CSKA Moskva Women

The first attempt came from Viktor Murashko, the club's first president, who put a side together in 1990. It played the Russian championships of 1991 to 1993 under three different names, then ran out of money and stopped.

The revival began in 2014 in the first division, and the side reached the top flight in 2016, playing its first match there on 29 April. Elvira Todua, a goalkeeper, scored that team's first goal in the division.

The club was folded into the structure of PFC CSKA and took on players from the disbanded Rossiyanka. Russian clubs have been excluded from UEFA competition since 2022.

The one European campaign was 2020/21. CSKA beat Swansea City 4:1 in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, then lost 1:2 to Apollon and went out.

Nadezhda Smirnova, the captain, has played more than 200 matches for the club since 2016.
