Rostov FC

The two meet in what everyone in the region calls the Southern Derby.

The women's team did not begin from nothing in December 2020. It was assembled inside the men's FC Rostov structure out of what was left of Donchanka — a club that started life in Azov in 2005 under the name Don, took the Donchanka name in 2010 and moved its base to Rostov-on-Don. Donchanka won the second tier four times and had two spells in the top flight; it stopped operating in May 2026, when the funding ran out.

The debut season in the Superliga brought fifth place, and the year after that fourth — still the club's best finish. Since then the line has run the other way: seventh, eighth, and in 2025 twelfth of thirteen. Three times, in 2022, 2023 and 2025, the team reached the quarter-finals of the Russian Women's Cup.

Liana Yuhaeva has scored 17 league goals for the club, more than anyone else, and was called up by the Russian national team in 2022. Natalia Karyova ran the side through its first three seasons, including the fourth-placed year; Yana Chub has been in charge since July 2024.

The shirts are yellow and blue.
