Oxford Sunnyside

For most of the twentieth century the team playing out of Lurgan under the Oxford banner was called Oxford United. In 2011 the club dropped that name for Oxford Sunnyside. The switch kept the old nickname, the Big O, and the white-and-red kit.

That youth pipeline has paid off in silverware. Oxford Sunnyside holds the record for Irish Junior Cup wins, with seven, stretched across a run from the early 1980s to 1998, alongside a stack of Mid-Ulster Shield and Mid-Ulster Football League junior titles from the same era.

The clearest proof of what the academy can produce is Shayne Lavery , who moved on to Portadown and then Glenavon before Everton signed him and Northern Ireland capped him at senior level.

Lurgan Celtic and Glenavon supply the sharpest local rivalries, though matches against Lurgan Town and Valley Rangers carry no particular name of their own. Home games are played at Knockramer Park.
