The HPC Oval Ground in Karachi holds around 8,000 people, and Pakistan Television don't treat it as a fixed home — matches also go to the State Bank of Pakistan Sports Complex and the National Bank of Pakistan Sports Complex, shared grounds rather than a ground of their own.

The side traces back to 1974. That system was dismantled in May 2019, when the Pakistan Cricket Board, under Prime Minister Imran Khan's administration, cut departmental sides in favour of regional franchises, and PTV went with it. The team was revived in August 2023 and returned to competition the following season.

Before the shutdown, PTV's best result was the Patron's Trophy Grade-II, won in 2012–13 against Karachi Electric Supply Company. In 2024–25 PTV beat the State Bank of Pakistan by three wickets to take the President's Trophy Grade-I, its first at that level.

The name most associated with that run is captain Shamyl Hussain, who led PTV through a defence of just 40 runs, with bowlers Ali Usman and Ammad Butt holding the total up to the end.
