Provincial Osorno

Three times Provincial Osorno won Primera B outright — in 1990, in 1992, and again in 2007 — and each title carried the same prize: passage into Chile's top flight. The promotions of 1990 and 1992 sent the club straight back up within two years, and 2007 repeated the trick a decade and a half later.

The club that did this was not, technically, unbroken. Financial collapse forced a refoundation on 3 December 2012, and what plays today under the name Deportes Provincial Osorno carries the old badge and colours — dark blue shirts, white shorts, white socks — into a history that predates it. Home games are still played at Estadio Municipal Rubén Marcos Peralta, known locally as Parque Schott, in the Los Lagos region town the club is named for.

Nine seasons in Primera División followed the various promotions, spread across the 1990s and into 2000, with a solitary return in 2008, when Osorno finished sixth. The sharpest single run came outside the league table altogether. In the 2003 Pre-Copa Sudamericana, the club beat four Primera División sides in a row to reach the final, then met Universidad Católica and lost on penalties, 3-5, after the tie finished 2-2.

A third title, in Tercera División A in the 2016-17 season, sent the club up into Segunda División.
