A nine-year-old turned up at Salisbury United and was handed to Swarv Kania. The boy was Nestory Irankunda. Kania took the age groups; Irankunda left for bigger things.

The third division title came in 1955, the second season of its existence, then again in 1976 after a long stretch in the lower reaches. The 1980s were the club's most productive run: the second division cup in 1982, the division itself in 1983, the West End Cup a year later, and in 1985 the first division.

Then 1991, which is the season people still count. The club won the State League and the Coca-Cola Cup in the same year. Two further State League titles followed much later, in 2008 and 2011.
