What South East United built was not an academy. The recruitment ran the other way: men who had already had careers in the state's top division came back down to play in blue and white for a third-tier side. Gedi Krusa took the team as player-coach, still turning out in it. Sam Sartori has been the one who scores.

The Southern Championship came in 2024, and then again in 2025, and the second one carried promotion with it — the club will play National Premier Leagues Tasmania football in 2026, one rung below the top. In between the two titles came the run to the Lakoseljac Cup final in 2025. South Hobart won it.

The Eastern Shore Derby against Clarence Zebras is the fixture that fills Pembroke Park.
