Berazategui

The club that plays that fixture was founded on 18 September 1975 by a group led by Alfredo San Miguel. Confusion between the two persists locally, but the professional side now known as Asociación Deportiva Berazategui counts its history from 1975, not from any older reference point in the city.

Promotion came the following year: a second-place finish in the 1976 Primera D play-off round, settled by a 1-0 win over Juventud Unida, took the club into Primera C for the first time. It has stayed in that tier and its neighbours since, its best moment coming in 1989-90, when the team went the full 44-match season unbeaten to win the Primera C title — still the standard the club measures itself against. A second Primera C championship followed in 1996-97, and a Clausura title in Primera C came in 2021, though that was a half-season honour rather than the overall league.

Home games are played at Estadio Norman Lee, a 10,000-capacity ground known to supporters as El templo naranja, the orange temple — a nod to the shirt colour that gives the club both its nicknames, El Naranja and, more theatrically, La Naranja Mecánica.

The 1989-90 unbeaten run is remembered above all through Juan Carlos Cerrillo, the coach who oversaw it, with Jorge Franzoni among the players who delivered it — the name still invoked when the club wants to describe what winning is supposed to look like.
