Brühl Women

LC Brühl has taken the Swiss league title thirty-four times, and the way those wins are spread out says as much as the count itself: eleven in a row from 1970 to 1980, then another eleven straight between 1987 and 1997, before the club kept adding titles into the 2000s, 2010s and most recently 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The team grew out of the handball section of the athletics club LAS Brühl in St. Gallen, formed in 1952 as DHC St. Gallen before taking the Brühl name and, in the 1990s, becoming its own independent club. It plays in green and black and is known to its supporters simply as LCB, or the Brühlerinnen.

Domestic dominance has not carried over into Europe in the same way — a European Cup semi-final in 1989 and a Challenge Cup quarter-final in 2006 mark the club's furthest runs there. At home, the cabinet has kept filling: twelve Swiss Cup wins and three Swiss Super Cups.

Vroni Keller's name runs through much of the club's history: sixteen years on court followed by thirteen more on the touchline. Among the current squad, Tabea Schmid and Yara Mosimann carry that expectation forward, while Saskia Lang, a former German international, has added experience to the group.

Matches against HC Arbon still draw the city's attention as the Ostschweizer Derby, played out in front of up to 4,200 spectators at the Sporthalle Kreuzbleiche. With the 2025 title added to the collection, Brühl go into the new season.
