Sorel-Tracy took all three points when they visited Jonquière Marquis on Saturday, winning 3:1 in the LNAH. The result gives the visitors their first victory of the campaign and moves them up to third in the table after one game played. Jonquière remain in eighth place with three matches under their belt and no points accumulated.
The scoreline tells a straightforward story. Sorel-Tracy showed they can compete away from home, while Jonquière continue to struggle for consistency. The hosts have lost two of three and now face the task of finding answers before the next fixture.
Our prediction called for an away win with 46 per cent confidence. It came through, and the margin of success suggests Sorel-Tracy had a better idea of what they wanted from the game.
Jonquière's recent run has not been kind. They lost 5:3 to Bataillon Saint-Jacquot on October 3rd, then went down 4:1 to Rivière-du-Lou 3L in the same double-header. Before that came a 6:2 defeat to Assurania de Tetford and a 6:1 loss to Rivière-du-Lou 3L on September 19th. Only one win in five matches leaves them with a lot to prove.
Sorel-Tracy have had a mixed start too. They were beaten 9:3 by Assurania de Tetford on October 3rd and lost 2:0 to National Québec on September 26th. They did beat Marineres Manotik 4:3 that same day and thrashed them 9:1 earlier. This victory adds momentum to an otherwise uneven opening.
The result keeps both teams in their respective positions for now. Sorel-Tracy will want to build on this performance, while Jonquière need to find some stability before the gap in results widens further.
