Veres Rivne open the 2025/26 season under captain Ihor Kharatin.

The club traces back to 1957, when it was founded as Kolkhoznik. It became Horyn in 1966 and Avanhard in 1972 before settling on Veres in 1991.

Home matches are played at the Avanhard, which reopened after a reconstruction running from 2019 to 2022. There is talk of taking the ground toward 13,466 seats once further building work is finished.

Red shirts and shorts at home give the side their nickname, the Red-and-Blacks. Their two promotions to the top flight, in 1992 and 2020/21, both came via the First League title; the first arrived under coach Roman Pokora, still the name most associated with getting Veres out of the second tier. Yuriy Vitruk captained the side through the 1990s and still holds the club's appearance record, while Mykola Volynets came through the Rivne academy before moving on to Shakhtar and the national team.

Their fiercest rivalry is with Volyn Lutsk, neighbours across Ukraine's north-west whose meetings are known as the Volyn derby.
