Alcobendas

On 2 May 2026 at Butarque in Leganés, Alcobendas trailed Complutense Cisneros in a Copa del Rey final. They won it 40–39 when Beka Kokiashvili scored in the 79th minute. The opponent was the club's Madrid rival, the side in the "Derbi Madrileño", the fiercest fixture in Spanish rugby. The win was the club's fourth Copa del Rey.

The first three came in a row, in 2018–19, 2019–20 and 2020–21. The opening final against FC Barcelona finished 24–23.

The club in its present form dates from the summer of 2003. Moraleja Alcobendas Rugby Unión, which had won the División de Honor in 2001–02, ran into severe financial trouble. Local supporters and the Fundal foundation set up a new entity that took over its place in the top division for 2003–04. The league title from that season is credited to the old club, not the new one, and Alcobendas have not won the league since. Their best finishes are third place in 2016–17, 2017–18 and 2024–25.

Wine and white give the club its nickname, Los Granates, and its home is the 2,000-capacity Campo de Rugby Las Terrazas. In 2022 the club was at the centre of the case involving Gavin Van den Berg and allegations of passport fraud. It ended with Spain disqualified from the 2023 Rugby World Cup and with sanctions against Alcobendas.
