Pozuelo

The merger ended, the old names came back, and in 2024 the club again became CRC Pozuelo.

The nickname, Los Piratas, comes from the water. The club began as the rugby section of Real Canoe Natación Club, and it played as Canoe Natación Club until 1999, then as UCM Canoe in partnership with Complutense University of Madrid. Titles came in both eras. The first three league championships fell in 1971, 1972 and 1973; the Copa del Rey had already been won in 1964, the year the Olímpico de Pozuelo entity was established.

The high point was 2008–09, when the club won the league, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España in the same season. Pablo Feijoo, later capped 67 times by Spain, was named best player in the league that year. Javier Canosa, who won 50 caps, played for the club from 2000 to 2023, through the Canoe years, the Atlético de Madrid sponsorship of 2012 to 2014 and the merger with CAU.

The fall came quickly. In 2010, with the club in serious financial difficulty, it sold its División de Honor licence to Bera Bera and dropped out of the top flight. It returned in 2012.

Its youth academy, Zona Pirata, has produced players with more than 500 international caps between them.
