CR La Vila

Huesitos, a chocolate brand from the town, put its name on the club's shirts, and the rugby side from Villajoyosa on the Alicante coast picked up a second nickname: Chocolateros. A third, Jonenses, comes from the comarca around them. Blue and white are the colours, blue at home and white away.

The peak came in 2011. La Vila finished the 2010–11 División de Honor one point ahead of Ordizia and then beat Cetransa El Salvador 24–10 in the Supercopa de España. That side also lost a Copa del Rey tie to El Salvador the same season. Relegation followed in 2012–13, and the club has been up and down since. It went up in 2016–17, down in 2018–19, up in 2020–21, down in 2022–23, and up again in 2023–24.

The last of those climbs ended in the División de Honor B playoff final on 12 May 2024, when La Vila beat Industriales Las Rozas 25–20. Jaume Sellés, a product of the club's own academy, scored the winning try.

Javier Carrión won 118 caps for Spain at sevens and played at the Rio Olympics in 2016. His brother Guillem became club president in 2023, the year the club was rebuilding after that last relegation. Matías Tudela, another Rio Olympian, joined during that phase as a player and coach. Sevens is part of the club's identity: it hosts the Seven Internacional Costa Blanca. César Sempere, who won 53 caps for Spain, played in England for Leicester Tigers and Northampton Saints.

The match that carries the most weight locally is the Derbi Valenciano against CP Les Abelles of Valencia, the other Valencian club in the top tier when La Vila is there.
