Arka Gdynia

Four Ekstraliga titles came Arka Gdynia's way — in 2004, 2005, 2011 and 2015 — yet the club's honours board also carries seven runner-up finishes, in 2000, 2002, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2014 and 2016. The 2010 Puchar Polski and the FIRA-AER Regions Cup of 2005, the tournament's first edition, filled out those years.

The club was founded in 1996 by the Arka Hooligans, the ultras of the local football club of the same name, together with former players from Gdynia's existing rugby sides. The date the club marks as its founding is not a meeting or a registration but a win, in a sevens tournament in Sopot that year; the first league match followed in 1997. Zbigniew Rybak, who backed the club as a sponsor and later served as honorary president, stayed with it until his death in 2022.

The Bulldogs, as they are known, play in yellow and blue and have carried the championship pedigree through changing sides. Dawid Banaszek went from fly-half and long-serving Poland international to the club presidency.

Arka's derby has no love lost. Lechia Gdańsk sits just along the coast, and meetings between the two are billed as the Tricity Derby.
