Pogon Awenta Siedlce

Pogoń Awenta Siedlce arrive at this season as back-to-back champions of the Ekstraliga, having beaten Orlen Orkan Sochaczew 21:9 in the 2025 final and then held off Energa Ogniwo Sopot 15:13 to defend the title in 2026.

The rugby section in Siedlce began in 1979, started by Henryk Niedziółka and Jerzy Matwiejczuk, and passed through the names of the Provincial Sports Federation, the factory club VIS Siedlce and the municipal sports centre before settling into MKS Pogoń in 1993. Awenta, the current sponsor, was added to the name only around 2012–2014. The club has never left Siedlce.

Before the two titles, the record read as a long run of near misses: silver in 2014, bronze four times over — 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2024.

Much of the current squad's spine came through the club's own academy. Kamil Bobryk is the name attached to that pipeline, a graduate who went on to win 50 caps for Poland, including the jubilee match against Belgium in 2023. Nicolas Saborit, who joined in 2024, has since become a fixture of the national side as well; six Pogoń players were called up for Poland's match against the Czech Republic in 2026.

Every derby against Orlen Orkan Sochaczew is billed as the Derby Mazowsza, and the label has earned its weight.

What still eludes Siedlce is the Polish Cup. The league title has been won and defended; the cup has not.
