«Champa»
A group of boys began playing rugby there in 1954, under the guidance of Brother Ángel Diez Diez. Club Champagnat was constituted on November 30, 1956.
Champagnat won the Campeonato de Primera B in 2018, beat Los Matreros 42–36 in 2023 to reach the Top 12, and in 2025 got past San Luis de La Plata to move up into the Top 14, the competition's top tier. Horacio Mazzini, who came through the club, made his debut for Los Pumas in 1977.
Locally, the fixture that matters is against San Patricio, played as the Clásico Local. Since 2012 the club has kept a different kind of match-day ritual: before home games, 649 flags bearing the names of Argentine soldiers killed in the Falklands War are set out across the in-goal area.
