JDFS Alberts

Second place in the 2025 First League season is the highest JDFS Alberts have finished since they earned their licence for Latvia's second tier before the 2015 campaign — a division they have not left since. The year before, third place sent them into a promotion play-off against Grobiņa, which they lost, leaving the Virslīga still out of reach. No honours in the top flight or in the Latvian Cup sit alongside those two league placings; the 2024 bronze and 2025 silver are the closest the club has come.

The club grew out of the youth system of an earlier Riga side called Alberts, reorganised after a merger with FK Auda and registered on 31 March 2008 as Jura Docenko futbola skola "Alberts" — named for coach Juris Docenko. It has stayed a second-division fixture in the capital ever since, without the top-flight run that would have put its name in wider circulation.

Home matches moved for the 2024–25 season to the football ground at Rīgas Hanzas vidusskola, a school pitch that replaced the previous ground at Daugavgrīvas vidusskola. It holds 500 — 180 seated, 320 standing — modest even by First League standards; plans for the surrounding Skanste district reference a larger stand, but that capacity has not been built. Orange and white are the club colours, worn closely enough that the Latvian sports press refers to JDFS Alberts simply as "the orange team."

The player most associated with the club is Dāvis Indrāns, capped ten times for Latvia between 2017 and 2018 before spells at Ventspils, Skonto, Metta, RFS, Jelgava and Valmiera. He returned to JDFS Alberts in 2022, closing a career that had taken him through most of the country's top division back to the club where it started.
