Māris Landmanis started a football school in Saldus in 2013. What grew out of it merged in February 2024 with FK PPK, a Riga club. The two brought their colours with them, which is why the shirts carry black, red, white and yellow between them.

The team plays in the 1. Liga and has finished nowhere near the top of it: eighth in the first season, seventh in the second, seventh again as the 2026 campaign runs down. Nothing has been won.

Gints Freimanis and Artis Lazdiņš, both capped by Latvia, have been attached to the squad. Renē Baumanis left for the Swiss club Wohlen.

Home matches are played on an artificial pitch inside the LNK Sporta Parks complex rather than in the main stadium — 420 of the 743 seats there are under cover. The supporters' group calls itself PPK Ordenis.

The cup has offered the sharper memories. In 2024, in the club's first season, the run reached the quarter-finals and ended 0–4 against Riga FC; the two seasons since have both stopped in the round of 16.

For now the task is the one the table sets: seventh place with the season closing.
