Leinster

Leinster Down 22-6 to Northampton Saints at half-time, they came back to win 33-22. It was the second of what became four European Rugby Champions Cup titles.

The province traces its formal existence to 31 October 1879, when the Leinster Branch of the Irish Rugby Football Union was inaugurated. Professionalism arrived in 1995, and with it a shift from Donnybrook Stadium to the RDS Arena in 2005. A 25-year agreement signed in October 2022 tied Leinster to the ground for the long term, though the biggest nights, the Champions Cup pool games and finals that outgrow the venue, still go to the Aviva Stadium.

Johnny Sexton left as the club's all-time leading scorer with 1,646 points. The Munster fixture, known simply as the Interprovincial derby, remains the one that matters most, ahead of meetings with Ulster, Toulouse, La Rochelle and the Bulls.
