Bialystok Women

The Sports Hall of the Agricultural School Complex on ul. Ks. Stanisława Suchowolca seats 700. BAS Białystok plays there because there was, for a stretch, nowhere else worth playing: the association started in 2010 as a youth project, and only took on a senior women's side in 2015, after AZS Białystok, the club that had carried Białystok volleyball into the PlusLiga, folded.

As AZS Białystok, the team spent the 2006 to 2013 seasons in the top flight, finished ninth in the PlusLiga in both 2011/12 and 2012/13, reached the sixth round of the Polish Cup in each of those campaigns, and in 2012/13 went into European competition, getting to the round of 32 in the CEV Cup and the round of 16 in the Challenge Cup. It had also been crowned Academic Champion of Poland in 2012.

BAS itself has been climbing more slowly. It won the second-tier promotion tournament in 2021 and went straight into a promotion playoff for the top division that same season, though it has settled since into life in the 1. Liga, finishing 12th in 2024/25. The club plays in black with red sleeves at home, white and black away, and keeps the BAS nickname that has followed it since the academy days.

Białystok's closest volleyball rival is really its own past: whatever comes next for BAS will be measured against the club that used to share its city and its colours, before it disappeared.
