KS Pila Women

The Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa MOSiR in Piła seats 1,500.

KS Piła exists because the club that used to fill that hall did not survive. PTPS Piła, founded in 1993 out of the women's section of WKS Sokół Piła, collapsed under financial problems in April 2021. KS Piła was set up that same year as a new legal entity, starting again from the third tier while PTPS's results stayed with a club that no longer competes. It has since worked its way up to the 1. Liga, the second division.

What KS Piła carries forward is the city's attachment to the sport rather than any silverware. Between 1999 and 2002, PTPS won four Polish Championships in a row, added four Polish Cups and a Supercup in 2008, and reached the Champions League quarter-finals in 2002/03 with a side built around the captain, Agnieszka Kosmatka. None of that belongs to KS Piła on paper, but the rivalry it inherited does: the Derby Wielkopolski against Energa MKS Kalisz still draws the crowd that once watched Piła win titles.

The current club goes by the nickname Pilanki and plays in yellow and black, colours tied to the city rather than to any of PTPS's old blue, red and white kit. In the second division, with the top flight still above it, KS Piła has yet to put anything in that gap.
