Nároďák owns three European titles, all won before the country split in two, in 1948, 1955 and 1958. Two world titles followed, in 1956 and 1966, and an Olympic silver came in 1964 — all of it earned under the Czechoslovak flag, in the years when the team that plays as the Czech Republic today did not yet exist as such.

That team took shape in 1993, after Czechoslovakia split, and the Czech Volleyball Federation counts the earlier record as its own, tracing statistics back to 1948. Since independence the results have been more modest: fourth place at the European Championships in 1999 and 2001, fourth at the 2025 World Championship, no Olympic qualification. The clearer marker of the post-1993 era is the CEV European League, where the Czechs have won gold twice, in 2004 and in 2022.

Jakub Janouch has captained the side as a setter, and the current squad has been built under head coach Jiří Novák, in charge since 2020. There is no fixed home ground — matches move between cities including Jablonec nad Nisou, České Budějovice, Kladno and Liberec, though the biggest fixtures tend to land in Prague, at the O2 Arena or at Sportovní hala Fortuna. Slovakia remains the fixture with the sharpest edge, still billed in the press as the Federal Derby, a name that keeps the shared history of the two sides alive long after the split that created them both.

The team goes into its next European League and World Championship qualifying cycles chasing another final four finish to match 2025's fourth place.
