In February 2026 the Danish men's team reached the final four of the CEV Volleyball European League and came away with bronze.

The federation behind the team, Dansk Volleyball Forbund, was founded on 4 April 1954. On the international stage the record is thinner: a single appearance at a world championship, in 1966, ending 22nd, and five outings at the European Championship, most of them finishing in the bottom third of the draw. The exception came in 2013, when Denmark co-hosted the tournament with Poland and finished 12th, still the team's best result at that level. The Olympics have never featured Denmark at all.

Continuity has mattered more than silverware in building the squad. Jesper Lundtang Petersen has earned 250 caps, and Rasmus Breuning has been named the country's Player of the Year five times between 2016 and 2024. Kristian F. Knudsen has coached the side since 2021.

Since 2024 Denmark has also played for the Nordic Cup, introduced in Varde and contested against Sweden, Norway and Finland. The national side has no ground of its own; its matches move between Hallerne in Copenhagen, Arena Næstved and Forum Horsens, following the calendar rather than any fixed home.
