Turkey have not tasted an Olympic tournament yet. Three CEV European League titles, in 2019, 2021 and 2023, and back-to-back Golden League wins in 2021 and 2023 sit behind the run. Their best finish at a European Championship remains a 10th place from 2021, a reminder that continental league form and the Euro itself are not the same competition.

The 2023 EuroVolley campaign carried both the high and the low of that stretch: a 3-1 win over Poland in the quarter-final, then a 3-2 loss to Serbia in the final. Slobodan Kovač took the team to the quarter-finals of the 2025 World Championship, having succeeded Alberto Giuliani, who had guided the Challenger Cup-winning squad two years earlier.

Matches are shared between the Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall and the Başkent Volleyball Hall. The federation running the team, the Turkish Volleyball Federation, traces its own history back to December 1958, when it was set up as a joint volleyball and handball body before splitting into an autonomous volleyball federation in 2004.
