Havlickuv Brod Women
Club · Czechia · Czech Cup Women
«Jiskra»
Second-tier volleyball is where this club has settled: Havlíčkův Brod's women play in the 1. liga žen, the second level of the Czech pyramid, with no Extraliga or Czech Cup silverware to show for the decades in between. The regional pairing with TJ Žďár nad Sázavou is the fixture that draws attention on the calendar; VK Hronov, Brno Královo Pole and TJ Sokol Nusle Praha make up the rest of the regular business.
Organised women's volleyball in the city predates the club itself: it runs back to 1952 under DSO Slovan, a full two decades before the section was formally set up in 1972 within TJ Jiskra Havlíčkův Brod. By 1977 the team was already competing in the old 2. liga.
The stronger story in recent years has been written by the youth side. The U18 team reached the Extraliga U18 final tournament in 2024, a result the senior squad's own league position has not matched. Pavla Tomášková is the name the academy points to: she went on to play in the Extraliga and to represent the Czech Republic at junior level.
