«Made in Hronov»
University students from Prague brought volleyball to Hronov's Sokol organisation around 1925. The club marked a hundred years of that history in 2025, though the women's section has spent most of its recent life a level below the top flight, in the 1. liga, the second tier of Czech women's volleyball. It has held its place there through stretches from 2014 to 2018 and again from 2021, without pushing into the Extraliga.
The team plays under the nickname Made in Hronov, and its matches at the gymnasium of ZŠ Hronov 1 hold barely more than a hundred spectators on the built-in stand at the Palackého street venue. Away trips to Slavia Hradec Králové and to VK Dvůr Králové nad Labem are billed locally as the East Bohemian Derby.
Jan Ševců has coached the side for years, with his daughter Jana Ševců wearing the captain's armband. Further down the club's history, a reserve side won the II. národní liga in the 2011/2012 season.
A century after those first Sokol sessions, the senior women's team has yet to reach Czech volleyball's top division.
