«KP Brno B»
Brno's volleyball identity runs through Královo Pole, a district that has fielded a team under one name or another since 1939, back when it played as Sokol Královo Pole. What now competes as KP Brno B carries that inheritance in its least glamorous form: the reserve side of VK Královo Pole, registered under its current legal name on 27 June 1996, and built specifically to move players from the academy into the Extraliga rather than to win anything itself.
That function shows in the results. In 2025/26 the team took five wins from twenty-eight matches in the 1. liga žen, the second tier of Czech women's volleyball, and it holds no league titles or cups of its own — the senior team's Extraliga championships belong to a different roster entirely. The B-team's own cup run peaked in the second round of 2018/19, and the fixture it drew there tells its own story: a 0:3 defeat to VK Šelmy Brno, the senior club's derby rival, played out one level down.
Setter Petra Vondráková and outside hitter Simona Jelínková both passed through this side on their way to the first team, which is the point of it existing. Home matches are played at STAREZ ARÉNA Vodova in Královo Pole, a hall the club has occupied through its recent history without needing to explain why.
Five wins, twenty-three defeats: a development team's ledger, not a contender's.
