Four teams stood between Orion Prague and a return to the tier below: TJ Junior Brno-Líšeň, VK Prostějov B, TJ Sokol Stará Bělá and TJ Kralupy all had to be beaten across the same weekend of qualifying matches in April 2025, and Orion won the lot, keeping a place in the 1. liga žen they had held for only a single season. That debut campaign had ended with seventh place in an eight-team group, six wins against eight defeats — enough to leave the team fighting just to stay where it was rather than build on it.

Getting back to that level took the club more than a decade. The women's section of TJ Orion Praha had a following before 2010, but the departure of its experienced coaches around 2011 left the senior side barely able to field a team. The rebuild that started in 2012 began with children rather than adults, opening its doors to boys and girls alike, and only years later did a senior women's team emerge again. Tomáš Macalík and Honza Prokop now coach that side, which plays its home matches at the ABC Braník hall in the Braník district of Prague and trains across a scatter of school gyms and sports halls on the south side of the city.

The following season brought fourth place in the 1. liga, a clear step up from the scramble of the year before. None of it traces back further than 5 February 1991, when the volleyball section of TJ Orion Praha was registered in its own right within the wider Prague sports society — a modest piece of paperwork that, more than thirty years on, is still where the story of this team begins.
