For some competitions TV Oberndorf does not enter alone. It joins forces with UVC Lamprechtshausen, and the two appear as a single side under the name SGTVOberndorf/UVCLamprechtshausen.

The volleyball section is much younger than the society around it. Turnverein Oberndorf, a gymnastics club by name, dates from 1897. Volleyball only became a branch association of its own in 2017. Norbert Wallner led it from the start and stayed as chairman until 2023, so the section's first six years ran under one person.

Known locally as TVO, the section trains and plays in the club's own hall at Watzmannstraße 1, the TVO-eigene Sporthalle.

The women's team plays in the 2. Bundesliga and the Austria Cup. Its seasons have mostly been spent in relegation battles or in the middle of the table. The one league title attached to the name belongs to the men's team, which won the 2. Bundesliga Men in 2019.
