The senior Linz-Steg side keeps its "Volleyball-Derby" against Perg; the second team has never been assigned a rival of its own. It plays instead in Group 1 of the 2. Bundesliga Women, taking on teams without the weight of a fixture that means more than the points on offer.

That absence of a named enemy fits what the side is: the reserve of ASKÖ Linz-Steg, filled with players still working out whether the first team is within reach. Anja Renoldner, Hannah Hörtenhuber, Julie Korkmaz, Sophie Pühringer, Paula Koppler and Katharina Brandlmaier have made up the squad in recent seasons. Its results read the same way — eighth place in the 2.

The parent club dates to 1972; the second team's own starting point was never recorded separately, and its presence in the 2. Bundesliga Women is traceable only back to the 2011/12 season, the point from which its history, as far as anyone can follow it, actually begins.
