TI-Volley go into the 2025/26 season in the 2. Bundesliga, a division below where they spent the previous campaign, after the club cited financial reasons and withdrew from the top flight in May 2025. It is an odd position for a side that had just won the double.

That title, in 2024, made TI-Volley the most successful women's volleyball club in Austria: the Austrian Championship and the Austria Cup in the same year.

The club traces back to 1972, founded by the Ferrarischule in Innsbruck.

That rivalry is with VC Tirol, the other major volleyball name in the city, founded in 1997. Matches between them are known locally as the Stadtderby, and with TI-Volley now a tier below, the derby itself is on hold.
