Les Louves come into Ligue A, the French first division, after a season in which they did not lose a match in the Élite Féminine. The title was the second half of a double for Saint-Dié-des-Vosges in 2024-25. In the final of the Coupe de France Fédérale they beat Pays Viennois 3-2, a match that was much closer than the 3-0 over Bordeaux that won the same cup a year earlier. Promotion followed from the league title.

The Palais Omnisports Joseph-Claudel was renovated in 2024. It seats 1,100 as standard and more than 1,600 once the annexes are opened. Those extra seats matter for a team that now has to fill a hall against the best sides in the country.

The club began in 1955 as Sports Réunis Déodatiens, known as SRD, and its colours are red and black. Its two trophies, the Coupe de France Fédérale in 2024 and again in 2025, were won below the top flight. The Élite Féminine title, also from 2025, belongs to the same lower level.
