After president Stav Jacobi resigned in June 2026, the club dropped the Volero name and became Virtus Le Cannet. The players the papers had called Les Azuréennes or Les Cannettanes are now Les Virtueuses.

The name Volero came from Zürich. In 2018 the elite women's team of the Swiss club Volero Zürich joined Entente sportive Le Cannet-Rocheville, a local French club dating from 1994.

In 2021–22 Le Cannet won the French championship (Ligue A Féminine) and the French Cup. The same season they reached the quarter-finals of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Cup. A second league title followed in 2022–23, along with a place in the last 16 of the Champions League. The French Super Cup came in 2023. Cuba's Rosir Calderón and Serbia's Brankica Mihajlović are among the foreign players associated with those years.

The nearest rival is RC Cannes, and the meetings between them are billed as the Côte d'Azur derby.

The club works with two halls. Ordinary league matches go to Gymnase Maillan, which holds 825. European nights and finals move to La Palestre, which holds 4,145.
