The Palace of Games Sports on Sheremetevsky Prospekt seats 2,500.

The club exists because Vasily Galitskov, head of the Galteks textile group, and Alexey Skolobanov, a former player who had moved into coaching, put one together in December 2021 — the first professional men's volleyball side the Ivanovo region had produced. Skolobanov stayed on as head coach.

The climb since has been quick rather than gradual. Tekstilshchik entered the First League in the 2022/23 season, finished third in its zone, and won the Russian Cup among Higher League "B" sides in the same campaign. A season in the Higher League "B" followed, then promotion in 2024/25 to the Higher League "A", the second tier of Russian volleyball. In 2025 the club added the Friendship Cup named after Rasul Gamzatov.

The squad leans on players raised through Ivanovo's Sports School No. 3 and the city's universities, with Dmitry Shvetsov, a Super League bronze medallist, giving the group a rare touch of top-flight experience. Red and black shirts have earned the team its nickname, the Red-and-Blacks.

Tekstilshchik now plays its second season in the Higher League "A".
