Kama

The Multi-Sport Complex "Energiya" on Sovetskaya Street holds up to 600 spectators, a hall sized for a club that has spent most of its life climbing rather than defending a place at the top. Kama trains and plays there under the umbrella of the Perm Krai's Center for Sports Training, which runs the men's team competing in the Russian Higher League "A".

The side first trained together on 1 October 2018, and its early results moved fast: bronze at the All-Russian final that debut season, then the Higher League "B" title in 2019/2020, a season cut short before it could run its full course. Promotion followed in form rather than only in name — bronze in the Higher League "A" came in 2020/2021, a level the club has held since without slipping back down.

Since then the table has settled into a narrower band: silver in the Burabin Cup in 2021/2022, seventh place in the two seasons that followed, and fourth in 2024/2025 — the closest Kama has come to breaking back into the medals since that first promotion year. It is the kind of run that keeps a club knocking on the door without yet forcing it open.

Perm's volleyball attention splits by gender rather than by name: Kama carries the men's game, while Zvezda-Perm holds the equivalent standing on the women's side. The city's sharper rivalries, though, come from within the Higher League "A" itself, against the clubs Kama meets each season fighting over the same mid-table ground it has occupied since its first promotion.
