BBC Nord

A Burgenland derby lost by that margin, and a runner-up medal from a tournament nobody in Eisenstadt had played before: that was the Pannonia Cup final in September 2026, where BBC Nord Dragonz fell to the Unger Steel Gunners Oberwart 89:79. The Gunners had already beaten them in the 2022 Basketball Austria Cup semi-final, 101:90, and the two clubs' meetings carry enough weight in Burgenland to be called a derby in their own right.

That was not on the horizon in October 2010, when Dieter Frank and Andrea Knor put together a youth club in Hornstein. By 2017 the club had outgrown the town and shifted to Eisenstadt, the state capital, taking the name Dragonz along with a promotion to the second-tier Basketball Bundesliga. A sponsorship deal in 2019 added Coldamaris to the front of the name. The club kept climbing, and for the 2022/23 season it reached the win2day Basketball Superliga, the top flight.

The 2025 season brought recognition on two fronts: the men's team took the Landesliga Herren title, the under-19s won their own league, and Eisenstadt's sports awards named the Dragonz its Team of the Year. Sebastian Kunc captains the side under head coach Edgar Nubiola, with imports Sead Hadžifejzović and Rayshawn Mart brought in to sit alongside academy names like David Trukesitz.

Home games are played in front of 800, split between 500 seats and 300 standing places.
