The Kufstein Towers start this season in the win2day Basketball Superliga, Austria's top division. The Kufstein Arena holds 1,500. On the odd occasion the team moves to the Sporthalle Ebbs, which holds about 250.

The club began in March 2017 as the successor to the Sportunion Kufstein Funkymonkeys, who had folded. In the late 1990s the Funkymonkeys won the Tyrolean championship three years running, from 1997 to 1999, and the Towers were set up with the aim of bringing that period back to Tyrolean basketball. They did not wait long. They finished second in the Westliga in 2018, then won it in 2019 and went up to the second tier in 2021. In 2020 the pandemic cancelled the season, and the Tyrolean title was awarded to them anyway.

The man in charge of the bench is Xavi Mascaro, who in the summer of 2024 became the youngest head coach in Austrian basketball at 26. President Michael Pilger has steered the club's direction from the start. Mate Horváth scored 26 points in the 2026 Tyrolean derby against Swarco Raiders Tirol of Innsbruck, and Juho-Matti Henttonen is the captain. Jakub Hussain is among the longest-serving players.

Demand is also strong away from the first team. The youth section, which takes children from under-10 upwards, has had to stop admitting new players.

The Superliga is new ground for the club, and the Austrian Cup has taken them no further than a quarter-final, in 2022.
