Herner TC Women play in the top tier of German women's basketball, the 1. Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga (DBBL). Keltern were also the opponents when Herne won the DBBL-Pokal, the German Cup, in 2022: Rutronik Stars Keltern lost that final.

The women are the basketball side of Herner Turn-Club 1880 e.V., a multi-sport club. A first stint in 2007/08 was followed by a return for 2013/14. Five years after that return, in 2018/19, they won the German Championship and the cup in the same season.

The MCG-Arena on Mont-Cenis-Straße, which some also call the H2K-Arena, holds 500 spectators. The team plays in blue, white and red.
