TK Hannover Women

Two cup finals, two one-point margins. The DBBL-Pokal went to Hannover in successive seasons: 79:64 against OSC Osnabrück, then, a year later, a 73:72 squeeze past Eigners Angels Nördlingen. In between sat a run to the German championship final, lost to Rutronik Stars Keltern, which left the club as national runners-up the same season it first lifted the cup.

None of that belonged to the team that carries the old TK Hannover name today. The women's section was rebuilt around an operating company set up in February 2015 and went up into the 1. DBBL, the top flight of German women's basketball, that same season. For years afterward the side played simply as TKH Basketball Damen; the Luchse name and identity only arrived in 2021/22, well after promotion, once the team had already established itself in the top division.

The colours are black, red, white and gold, and the games are played in front of five hundred people at most: the Sporthalle Birkenstraße, on the street of the same name, seats no more.
